Rosh Chodesh Avar

February 12 - February 13

Adar (Hebrew: אֲדָר‎) is the sixth month of the civil year and the twelfth month of the ecclesiastical year on the Hebrew calendar. Adar usually occurs in the month of March on the Gregorian calendar. According to Esther 9, the Purim-related liberating wartime events take place in this month. During the Second Temple period, there was a custom to publicly remind people to prepare their annual monetary offering to the Temple treasury, known as the half-Shekel at the beginning of Adar. Some believe the Moses was taken on the seventh of Adar.
